Walk-In Wellness will gather and manage all of your health information in one accessible location and it will be available to you electronically or available by paper copy when requested. As your Walk-In Wellness Coordinator, we will work directly with you in the creation of your personal health record and we will then continue to maintain and update it for you as needed. During this process we will be integrating pertinent data from the professionals involved in your journey. Since you will own your personal health record, once our relationship ends, you can take your personal health record with you and it will be up to you to keep it up to date going forward.
The primary purpose of medical surveillance is to optimize one’s health by identifying early, any pre-existing conditions that could present an increased risk of adverse health effects down the road. Walk-In Wellness will help you identify where you are currently and then assist you in monitoring your OWN health risks and needs. We focus on surveillance because we want to be able to help influence, manage, direct, and protect your own personal health needs. First, Walk-In Wellness will help determine where you are physically by having you undergo a comprehensive physical exam. Second, we will discuss the findings and current medical needs, as well as outline appropriate intervals for recommended health screenings. Third, we will guide you on ways to get there by providing you referrals to physicians, dietitians, and personal trainers. Finally, we will input pertinent information from all activities into your personal health record while you are a member of Walk-In Wellness.
Licensed dietitians are qualified to work in private clinical practices, hospitals, and the medical nutrition industry. Walk-In Wellness uses registered and licensed dietitians to provide expert advice for people of all ages and can recommend dietary treatments for medical conditions such as diabetes, food allergies, gastrointestinal diseases, and obesity. By using a registered and licensed dietitian participating with Walk-In Wellness it will not only help you figure out what your body needs, but they will also be there to help guide you through the emotional roller coaster that comes with changing your lifestyle. Proper nutrition contributes not only to weight loss, but to your physical and emotional wellbeing.
Every person has a different idea about what it means to be ‘fit’. With Walk-In Wellness we want our clients to have the opportunity to see what ‘fit’ feels like for them on their own personal (individual) level. Every ‘body’ is different, that is why fitness plans should be created for the individual. Walk-In Wellness will help to get you set up to start a fitness journey that is specialized solely for you by allowing you to work one-on-one with your choice of participating personal trainers. We call it a journey because we hope your pursuit of fitness is long and prosperous.
